Folge 17: Wie entstehen Stoffkollektionen? – Ein Blick hinter die Kulissen von Hemmers Itex (Gast: Franzi Hemmers)

Who actually decides which colors, fabrics, and prints go into a fabric collection?

April 20, 2023

How are fabric collections created? And how does a fabric wholesaler operate? What special tasks do the local staff have to handle? And what does a typical workday look like for Franzi Hemmers at Hemmers Itex? We answer these and many other questions in this podcast episode.

Franzi writes: "My name is Franziska Hemmers, and I have been responsible for the marketing and design department at the company for almost five years now. In addition to traveling to the production countries, my responsibilities include assembling the collection, which I do together with my father, and compiling the fabric swatches.
Hemmers Itex is a fabric wholesaler from Nordhorn with more than 75 years of experience.
As one of the leading fabric wholesale companies, we supply customers with both fabric by the meter and ready-made garments. We offer seasonally changing and on-trend fashion collections.
We create this product range by utilizing worldwide resources and local staff. Together with design studios, we create our own designs in a wide variety of colorways."
