Let's sew a pouch out of clear vinyl :)
Perhaps you are already familiar with my tutorial for a vinyl zipper pouch - actually the same material this pouch is sewn from.
What is different? This time I don't need bias tape to bind the pouch. The pouch is primarily sewn with the overlocker. Even the zipper. You can, of course, also sew it with a regular sewing machine. The fabric edge won't be finished then, but that's not a problem.
I sew the pouch zipper with the overlocker
It works! Set the stitch width of your overlocker to narrow. It's best to test it on a scrap piece. For some overlockers, there are extra narrow feet available as an additional accessory. However, I skip that. My overlock seam sits about 1 millimeter over the edge of the zipper - which I think is totally fine for this type of quick pouch.
I finish the ends of the zipper with a small piece of bias tape. This is also a wonderful way to add a small pop of color to the otherwise transparent pouch.
You don't need a sewing pattern for this tutorial. That's great! This way, you can make the pouch as large or as small as you like.
Simply cut two pieces of vinyl to the size of your choice, round off the bottom corners (e.g., using a plate), and you're ready to go! :)
